Scofflaw 'Whiskey Tango Foxtrot' - Swatches & Review

Today's post features a polish from Scofflaw. Scofflaw is a small indie polish company based in Chicago, USA. If you haven't tried them yet you should try and pick one up, they make amazing polishes, the glitter combos are fantastic and the formula is always amazing.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot is "a teal jelly base packed with red, white, gold and brown glitters of various shapes and sizes". This swatch is three coats with one coat of top coat. I did find that the glitter sunk a little in the bottle, so it did require a good shake.
Scofflaw is available in the US via her etsy store, or internationally through Llarowe and Femme Fatale (soon to be shipping worldwide).

My Lush Haul

So yesterday was my 5th wedding anniversary - its certainly been a productive five years with three kids to show for it!  Anyway I got super spoilt and my hubby took me to Lush to buy me a pressie - he knows how to keep wifey happy :)  Heres what I got...
Lush Karma, Tiny Hands, Lovely Jubblies, Rock Star Soap, Chou Chou Toothy Tabs

Lucky huh? He had a bit of help from me, but some of it he picked on his own!

Lush Rock Star Soap
Rock Star soap - this is one of his picks and its the second time hes bought it for me. I ran out of it a while ago and I've really missed it - I wish they would put this smell in more products because I could just sniff it all day.  Rock Star is vanilla scented.

Lush Karma Perfume
Karma solid perfume - mmm this is the only Lush smell that can give the Rock Star soap a run for its money imo. From the Lush website: 'Karma is a powerful, spicy and unique patchouli and citrus perfume'. This is going to be a product I buy again and again, its just amazing.

Lush Chou Chou Toothy Tabs
Chou Chou .. I Love You toothy tabs - This is a product I've wanted to try for a while. Its quite an interesting experience! You just crunch the tablet between your teeth (I advise slowly, as they're quite strong), then brush your teeth as normal - the tablet froths up as you brush. My teeth did feel clean afterwards and I had lovely rose scented breath! I quite like these, and I will definitely repurchase - I would like to give the other kinds a go too.  I did make my husband try these too - hes not a fan lol - didn't like the texture and the taste. Oh well - least he won't be stealing them!

Lush Lovely Jubblies
Lovely Jubblies - YES, finally!  I've wanted to try this product for a long time now, I've breastfed three kids so Lush's description appealed to me: 'We’ve developed a cream to keep your bits firm and supple. This blend of cold-pressed, organic oils can keep your knockers, decolletage, stomach and bottom in top nick'. This sounds amazing - looking forward to seeing if I notice any changes after using this for a while. It definitely smells great - a mix of orange blossom and rose.

Lush Tiny Hands
Tiny Hands solid moisturiser - I'm a mum to kids in nappies, so I wash my hands about 238676 times a day - I use a lot of moisturiser. I trialled this product in the shop and loved the way it felt on my hands so my husband insisted on getting it for me <3  Its a blend of vanilla, chamomile, marigold and cocoa butter and you just rub it between your hands to help 'soften and repair dry and sore hands'. I've already used this quite a bit and I love it - the moisturising effect really lasts.

So overall I was super happy with my pressie - I love absolutely everything I got and I can see all the items becoming fixtures in my body care routine. What Lush products have you tried - anything you would recommend? Get your fix in your local lush store or online.

Ninja Polish 'Hydra' - Swatches & Review

I just have to apologise in advance... the following pictures may create a new lemming! I was lucky enough to snag Hydra from the new Ninja Polish Dragon Collection - its a gorgeous multichrome glitter that shifts from green to blue to pink.
Ninja Polish Hydra
Ninja Polish Hydra

The color shift in this polish is really striking!  This is shown at 4 coats alone, however I could have gotten away with 2, and next time I wear it I'll definitely layer it.  I found that one layer of top coat was enough.

I'm so glad I nabbed this while it was available!  It sold out pretty quickly but you can head on over to Ninja Polish and sign up to be notified via email when it gets restocked - its definitely worth stalking ;)

Darling Girl Cosmetics - Swatches (Part 2)

Finally part 2 of my Darling Girl Cosmetics post!  This continues on from Part one which you can find here.  I've tried swatching them a bit more clearly than the last post and all pics are in natural light and over pixie epoxy. One benefit of taking so long to get this up is that I've had a chance to trial the shades and I'm really impressed with them.  I found them really easy to apply and the wear time was also excellent.

Darling Girl Basket Case
Basket Case:
DGC description: 'Bright purple with turquoise shift and gold sparkles'This is the shade I bought a petit of instead of a sample and I'm so glad I did - I'm sure I'll be going back for a full size.  Its the perfect shade of purple and the turquoise shift is really striking. Also I found I only used a tiny bit of this - the pigmentation is fantastic!  I have to confess, I didn't even notice the gold sparkles until I was looking at this pic, but its a beautiful shade anyway.

Darling Girl Ghost Light
Ghost Light (spectral shift):
DGC description: a sheer teal with a touch of green iridescence and a golden shift.
Darling Girl's description sums this shade up really well.  Its a gorgeous shade, I love how it appears to glow.

Darling Girl Sultry Siren
Sultry Siren:
DGC description: a murky aqua base with a pink shift.
Sigh, I'm going to be poor - this is another one I want in full size! :P  I really wish my pics of this one were better, its so much better than it appears here, the shift is much stronger.  This pic does show the base well though, which is really unique and pretty.

Darling Girl Midnight Sea
Midnight Sea:
DGC description: a rich, matte, royal purple base with turquoise shift.
Wow, I was amazed how similar this was to Basket Case, however I think if I swatched them without the pixie epoxy Midnight Sea would be a much richer purple than Basket Case due to the matte base.  I adore both shades anyway!

Darling Girl Nerpette
Nerpette:
DGC description: deep reddish purple base with strong blue sheen.
Super pigmented shade and a really striking sheen - I really enjoy colors like this.

Darling Girl Hang Loose
Hang Loose:
DGC description: Deepish periwinkle blue with pink undertone, gold iridescence and a smattering of color shifting blue iridescence for added depth.
Periwinkle is always a fave of mine, and this one is super sparkly!

Darling Girl Silly Sea Lion
Silly Sea Lion:
DGC description: Mid-tone grey base with strong copper sheen and soft silver iridescence.
This is a really interesting color - the combo of greenish grey and the brilliant copper sheen work really well together.

Darling Girl Freedom Rings
Freedom Rings:
DGC description: Somewhat opaque white with very subtle blue undertone and loaded with color blue and soft red color shifting iridescence.
I love this shade - it looks really ethereal.  Super pretty!

Darling Girl Teenage Dream
Teenage Dream:
DGC description: Frosty warm pink with silvery undertones and purple sparkles.
I have to confess, I didn't love this one.  Compared to the other shades I received I just didn't think it was very special - I didn't notice any purple sparkles either. It was a GWP and is still pretty, but its just not really one I'll wear.

Overall I'm really impressed with my first order from Darling Girl and I will be making another one soon :)  I noticed a couple of new shades that caught my eye while I was getting descriptions for this post.  I'm looking at you Charmed and Leaping Lizards!

Thanks for taking the time to read my post - hope you enjoyed it xx

Wing Dust Collections 'Night Fury' - Swatches & Review

Night Fury! Who could resist a polish named after this:
CUTEST. DRAGON. EVER.  Ok.. so I'm a bit of a fan aaand I have two sons... I know what you're thinking!  "Yes yes, that dragon is awesome.... but we're here for the polish!". So here it is:
Wing Dust Night Fury
Nearly as amazing as Toothless himself (:P), this is a gorgeous deep purple/blue jelly polish loaded with blue and purple iridescent glitters and shimmers.
Wing Dust Night Fury
Shown here is three coats with one layer of top coat.  This was my first polish from Wing Dust and I was really impressed with the formula - it glided on really smoothly, not thick at all, and wore really well. I love they way it appeared to almost glow in certain lights. I will definitely be checking out what else they've got, I know they've released a few new polishes recently that looked interesting.
Wing Dust Night Fury
I definitely recommend getting hold of this polish if you're a fan of this type of shade!  I picked this up at Llarowe but Wing Dust Collections also has an etsy store.
Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed this post! :) xx

Emily de Molly 'Cosmic Forces' - Swatches & Review

What would a nail blog be without the mandatory Cosmic Forces post??  This seriously must be one of the most popular indie polishes out there, making it a bit of a pain to get hold of. :-/
Emily de Molly Cosmic Forces
Ahhh, love it :P  A definite must-have for any circle glitter lovers!  The pics show 3 coats of Cosmic Forces with 1 coat of top coat.  Formula is good, however you do have to fish a bit for the larger glitters.
Emily de Molly Cosmic Forces
Cosmic Forces is a dark purple jelly polish, filled with Lavender holo dots and hex and pink dots glitter. The holographic circles in the jelly base give the polish really good depth - definitely one of those polishes that you put on and then spend the rest of the day staring at your hands.
Emily de Molly Cosmic Forces

Emily de Molly has followed this up with a blue version (Oceanic Forces) and a black version (Dark Forces). These polishes are available to Australians through Emily de Molly's etsy store, or Femme Fatale Cosmetics. Internationals can stalk Mei Mei's Signatures and Llarowe for restocks.

Femme Fatale 'Aqueous' - Swatches & Review

Aqueous is one of Femme Fatale's newest shades - its 'a medium bright blue crelly filled with teal, navy, blue, magenta and pink.glitters'.
Femme Fatale Aqueous
It should come as no surprise that I love this polish :)  FFC can do no wrong! :P But seriously its so nice when you have high expectations from a brand and they consistently live up to them.
Femme Fatale Aqueous
The pictures show 3 coats of Aqueous with 1 coat of topcoat.  Application was about what you would expect from this type of polish - a little thick due to the amount of glitter but nothing troublesome. No fishing was required for the glitter either, which is always a bonus!
Femme Fatale lacquers are available from their site for Australians, or Llarowe and Harlow & Co internationally.  It seems to be sold out on both Llarowe and Harlow at the moment so make sure you keep an eye out on their facebook pages if you're trying to snag it!
