Notoriously Morbid 'Lady Lovely Locks' Collection - Swatches & Review

I am a child of the 80's, and a female, therefore I am a huge Lady Lovely Locks fan. As soon as I saw that Notoriously Morbid had a summer collection of pastel mattes based off the show, I knew I had to have it!

+
= WIN!!!

I even had a Duchess Ravenwaves doll when I was little... I miss that doll! I have no idea what happened to it, this makes me sad :(  So of course I had to include a pic:
Hmm!  I may have just discovered why I keep dying my hair from brown to black and have a thing for the color purple....

Moving on! This collection is amazing, seriously... its like my dream collection of mattes.  All swatches are over Urban Decay Primer Potion and I've used desciptions from Notoriously Morbid's site. The first pic of each shade is in the sun, second is in shade.

Duchess Raven:
"Can be mean, jealous, cruel, stubborn, selfish, domineering, cold, careless and conniving but you have to be to take over the kingdom, right?! A pastel matte purple for a tiny bit of mystery."
Notoriously Morbid Duchess Raven

Lovely Lady:
"Loyal, brave, kind, selfless, polite, resourceful, optimistic, dependable and friendly. Everything a Princess should be. A pastel matte pink for a lovely lady look."
Notoriously Morbid Lovely Lady

Maiden Crown:
"Funny and imaginative with a big heart, loves making up stories, styling her hair, and collecting bugs, but is somewhat impulsive and, despite being quite smart, would sometimes get herself into trouble. A perfect friend for the Princess! A soft pastel matte yellow."

Notoriously Morbid Maiden Crown

Fair Maiden:
"Every Princess needs a bestie! Daydreamer and painter, cool-headed, and intelligent. A pastel matte teal blue to be the fairest of them all."

Notoriously Morbid Fair Maiden

Prince Strong:
"Every story deserves a strong Prince. A matte pastel light blue for a tiny touch of royalty."

Notoriously Morbid Prince Strong

My favourites from the collection are Duchess Raven (of course) and Fair Maiden (because I think its quite a unique shade), but the whole collection is gorgeous. They were all soft, buildable and easy to blend - they weren't chalky at all like some mattes can be. I adore these and can see myself using them all the time! I got these at an amazing price - just $2.50 USD each, and also there was a sale at the time, so I also got them at 40% off! I believe these are currently being cleared out to make way for the fall collection, so get them while you can, I promise you'll love them!

I bought these in my second order from Notoriously Morbid (the rest of which I'll swatch asap), and am amazed again at the quality, as well as the amazing customer service. Click here to see my first post :) I'm definitely going to become a regular customer, I've already got my cart filled up for my next order :x

Hope you enjoyed my post, thanks so much for reading! xx

Digital Nails 'Dig Deep' & 'Lying' - Swatches & Review

Hey guys! Sorry I've been a bit quiet, hectic week! Today I've got two polishes from Digital Nails to show you.  I picked up Lying and Dig Deep in a recent restock.
Digital Nails Dig Deep
Dig Deep is a "neutral gray crelly packed full of multiple sizes of matte gray glitter, and also a pale aqua glitter". Dig Deep is inspired by diamond blocks in Minecraft - though there must have been some drama over that, as the listing is now titled: "Dig Deep: a Digital Nails nail lacquer inspired by mining diamonds in that game that I'm not allowed to mention." Sigh! I've done my time in minecraft, so I'm loving the geeky reference. Even if it does bring back memories of many lava + creeper related deaths!!
Digital Nails Dig Deep

I think this captures the color of diamond ore really well! The swatch shows four coats alone (no undies) and two coats of topcoat. Although I love the depth of this, I will definitely use undies next time. I had no issues with the formula and didn't have to fish for glitter. Definitely a fan of this one.

The other polish I purchased was 'Lying', which is a thermal color change polish.
Digital Nails Lying
"It’s a dusty deep purple at room temperature & transitions to a rich dusty teal when it goes above 88 degrees F" (approx 31 degrees Celsius). When I buy color change polishes I tend to go for quite dramatic change and this one doesn't disappoint!

Apparently this polish was inspired by The Lying Cat from the graphic novel series 'Saga'. I'm not familiar with this series so I had to google a pic:
The swatches show 3 coats plus topcoat, and the formula was perfect.

This was definitely a good first experience with Digital Nails - I like the thought and care that goes into creating their polish and their geeky inspiration is definitely a selling point for me! My order shipped quickly and arrived faster than I expected.

Digital Nails lacquers can be purchased through their etsy store and both of these shades are currently in stock :)

Scofflaw 'Whiskey Tango Foxtrot' - Swatches & Review

Today's post features a polish from Scofflaw. Scofflaw is a small indie polish company based in Chicago, USA. If you haven't tried them yet you should try and pick one up, they make amazing polishes, the glitter combos are fantastic and the formula is always amazing.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot is "a teal jelly base packed with red, white, gold and brown glitters of various shapes and sizes". This swatch is three coats with one coat of top coat. I did find that the glitter sunk a little in the bottle, so it did require a good shake.
Scofflaw is available in the US via her etsy store, or internationally through Llarowe and Femme Fatale (soon to be shipping worldwide).
Thankyou for reading my post! xx

Femme Fatale 'Nightsong Grotto' - Swatches & Review

Here it is.. the polish that is on par with Emily de Molly's 'Cosmic Forces' on the difficulty-to-get-hold-of-on- Llarowe scale!  Was it worth all the constant refreshing and waiting?  MOST DEFINITELY!  I am in love... but we all know I'm a bit of a Femme Fatale fangirl so go ahead and have a look at the pics and see what u think :)
Femme Fatale Nightsong Grotto
Incredible right? Definitely one of my all time faves - I normally gravitate towards purples but if awesome was a colour this would be it, so I think I'll make an exception. Application was good, a bit thick (as you would expect from a polish this jam-packed with glitter) but nothing unmanageable, just need to take a bit more care with application.
Femme Fatale Nightsong Grotto
Nightsong Grotto is described as 'A lovely teal green base filled with various greens and teals, highlighted by a scattering of iridescence and pink holo. Reminiscent of lotus flowers floating along some forgotten stream in a shady forest.' Nice description, and seems pretty accurate.
Femme Fatale Nightsong Grotto
A lot of Sophies polishes are based on the game World of Warcraft. The following is a picture she posted on Instagram showing the inspiration for the polish - I think its amazing how she can look at that and turn it into polish form the way she does!
Femme Fatale Nightsong Grotto
I definitely recommend picking up this polish if you get the chance, its available from Femme Fatale (in Australia) or Llarowe. Harlow & Co is also about to restock Femme Fatale so it may be available there too.

Thanks for viewing my post! Have a great weekend :)

Cadillacquer 'Dark Defender' - Swatches and Review

By now I'm sure you've all heard of the gorgeous Swiss indie brand - Cadillacquer.  They create absolutely amazing polishes, and their glitter combos always work pefectly together.  The following polish is from the Dexter Collection, and its called 'The Dark Defender'.
Dark Defender is described as 'a dark teal jelly base with light green and purple micro flakies' which is pretty much on the money.  This polish is pretty much a teal lovers dream!  The flakies work perfectly with the base and are nice and visible.
Make sure you enlarge the pics so you can see the full awesomeness of this polish, its definitely a new favourite of mine!
This bottle shot really shows how amazing the Dark Defender is, and (just in case you need a bit of enabling) just think, when the current and final Dexter season ends, you're going to need a pretty new polish to console yourself - and what better than one inspired by the man himself? :P

I purchased this from Llarowe (where it is currently still in stock) but it is also available from Cadillacquer's Etsy Store.  Worldwide shipping is available from both sites.
